The core is the hydrogen fuel cell

There is consensus that hydrogen fuel cells could soon play a significant role in mobile and stationary power generation.

The global hydrogen fuel cell market is expected to grow from $2.78 billion in 2020 to $16.50 billion in 2025 at a faster-than-average annual growth rate. (Business Wire, Dec. 2021)

Companies are developing new technologies to reduce the weight, manufacturing costs and component requirements of hydrogen fuel cells. Advances in technology are significantly improving efficiency.

Whitecell Power's expertise extends primarily to the production and processing of bipolar plates. The innovative production methodology and the optimized material composition enable significant efficiency increases and thus help the hydrogen fuel cell to achieve an industrial breakthrough.

Mass production can significantly reduce the cost of bipolar plates

Our proprietary and patented 3D production technology will open the door for mass production of bipolar plates as part of the fuel cells.

A combination of high-precision 3D screen printing, advanced materials and the use of a femto-laser not only guarantees maximum channel precision, but also enables optimized geometries and reduced wall thicknesses.

On the material side, specially ground "carbon black" and a new composite material based on a heat-resistant polymer will guarantee durability and operating hours. Based on our sample calculations, we can achieve an annual production of several million parts per machine with our proprietary printing technology.

The main advantages are:

  • Possibility of mass production, therefore cost advantages
  • High precision flow fields in free shape and size
  • Optimized and dedicated material properties
  • Suitable for high and low temperature fuel cells
